Gutter guards: questions and answers
Will I never have to clean my eavestroughs again?
No guard is maintenance-free. Guards keep most leaves and needles out, so clean-outs are far less frequent, but fine debris can still collect and should be checked now and then.
Can guards go on my existing eavestroughs?
Yes, if they are in good shape. We clean them first and fit the guards on top. If they are rusted or sagging, we quote new eavestroughs with guards.
Do gutter guards stop ice dams?
No. Ice dams come from heat loss and snow melting on the roof. Guards keep the eavestrough clear so spring melt can drain away.
What warranty do you offer?
Our workmanship comes with a 10-year labour warranty, in writing. If it leaks because of how we installed it, we come back and fix it at no charge. Manufacturer warranties on materials come on top of that; on shingles they usually run 25 to 50 years, depending on the product line.
